Project Overview

Push Focus wrote, produced, and directed an original Doritos spec commercial built around a playful twist on modern texting culture. Set during a Super Bowl watch party, the commercial follows two friends discussing a photo one of them received from a guy she’s been talking to. As the conversation builds, viewers are led to expect one thing—but the reveal is simply a “chip pic”: a photo of the guy proudly eating a Dorito. The lighthearted concept delivers a memorable punchline while embracing the fun, self-aware humor that has become synonymous with Doritos advertising.

The Challenge

Doritos commercials thrive on taking familiar situations and flipping them with an unexpected twist. The challenge was to create a spot that felt current, relatable, and genuinely funny within a 30-second runtime. By playing on audience expectations and ending with an innocent reveal, we created a concept that captured the playful personality of the Doritos brand while delivering a memorable comedic payoff.
